Schoolmaster Hill

Remains of a Puddingstone shelter, designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, stand on Schoolmaster Hill. The "Schoolmaster" in the hill's name refers to Ralph Waldo Emerson who lived there in a rented farmhouse with his mother and brother between 1823 and 1825 while teaching school in Roxbury.
